I don't know what the count was in Nam, but you could surmise it may be similar, what with the numbers of people in and around the WTC. NYC looks like a warzone, so does the Pentagon. Thank heavens the White House or Capitol were not taken out too. What a horrible nightmare the poor people trapped in those locations and their families must be enduring. I was in NYC two weeks ago and can not imagine seeing the skyline without the twin towers there.

Hi Charles,

One commentator suggested that the casualty count might be similar in magnitude to the Americans killed in Viet Nam.

Was it Fox or the National Enquirer? This sort of yellow journalism is completely irresponsible.

FYI, the body count on US personnel in the Viet Nam conflict was ~60,000. Three million Vietnamese lost their lives. There is no honest and responsible comparison between the WTC event and the destruction of life in Viet Nam.
