While Egypt is hardly an ally, I guarantee they will become an enemy if you paint them with the same brush as Libya, Afganistan or Syria. After all, don't forget that the Egyptian government has been having large problems with the Islamic extremists within Egypt. They certainly cannot be seen helping us but they have their own reasons to help us behind the scenes.

And it appalls me that some seem to be painting everyone with the same brush.

Bin Laden's agenda is 100% tied to the destruction of Israel as a State. What he did today was retaliation for the US support of Israel. Punishment of the US for supporting Israel, and his attempt to get the US to stop the support via terroristic acts, has been his stated goal for a long time. Really no secret.

I'm not sure that his goals would be any different if the Palestinians did not exist or if all issues involving the Palestinians were completely resolved.
