An Arab paper in London has indicated Bin Laden warned them personally three weeks ago that he would attack the US in a big way soon. The editor has previously interviewed Bin Laden in person. He apparently has credibility. I personally don't think much can be done. Viet Nam taught us one lesson(I hope), that people fighting with more conviction can win over a people with less conviction. It is part of the history of war. Whether we agree or not with the Islamic view matters not. They are set to do die for what they believe. How do you win that fight? No one has ever answered that question. What is a terrorist to us is a hero in the Arab world.

I'm thinking of Clinton's decision to bomb the Sudanese pharmaceutical plant - remember it was called a terrorist center at the time? Something stupid like that but on a larger scale. But perhaps that was just his attempt at a diversion from Monica.
