it is all so surreal...

It does seem surreal, and as much as I continue to watch the news I can't believe all of this is really happening.

I am near the ferry landing, and this morning a message came over the loudspeaker that all flights out of Seattle were cancelled. At first I thought there was "an incident" at the Seattle airport, and I didn't learn until an hour later about this tragedy.

People "on island" (as they call themselves) are concerned and worried about the situation, and everyone feels shocked and seems to feel disbelief about this tragedy.

The borders between the U.S. and Canada have been tightened, and that is something that has an effect on the Islands and travel to this area.
