Carl, I doubt this would be practical, since to manually navigate such a plane (and you would have to to hit a target as they did, and unfortunately, too accurately) without both feet and hands directly on the controls, might be difficult. I am not a pilot, so I would not know for sure.

As for retaliation, I doubt retaliation per se is the solution, we will have to make it very "dear" for any government or locality that harbors these terrorist organizations, not just those directed at the US, but those in the rest of the world as well, such as in Africa, the Philippines and elsewhere. Sometimes, it will be quite difficult to differentiate between "legitimate" "national liberations organizations" and plain terrorist organizations. It may take a good ten to twenty years of "War on Terror", before we win, but eventually, I think we will. I am reminded of Yamamoto's musings after his successful sneak attack on Pearl Harbor: "I fear we have awaken a sleeping giant" (or something similar...)
