The lines for donating blood in Pittsburgh are out the doors and around the corners.

I will donate tomorrow in Erie. Provided my blood pressure is not sky high :(

I am rethinking my idea to donate blood today. I am wondering if because there will be a "ongoing" need for "fresh" blood, if it maybe be beneficial to keep my blood fresh for a few more days?? As with any emergency situation, the response is greatest immediately after the crisis, yet often times the need goes way beyond the "immediate" time frame. As people attempt to get back to the day to day routine, the lines a the blood banks will decrease, again, but the need may not. Being that once one has donated their blood, they will be unable to do so again for 90 days. Just a passing thought.....any thoughts anyone??? Note, I will be donating blood, I am just wondering it there is value in waiting a couple/few days??
