>If somebody broke into your house ... killed some of your family members ... is that what you would do? Talk to them? I would hope you would do something else first!

Well I hope they get the electric chair or something. But for someone to do such an act is probably too high on drugs, alcohol and has some loose screws on his/her brain. We are not talking about isolated criminal acts that are part of every society (especially here). We are talking about very sophisticated coordinated attacks in the WTC and Pentagon by people willing to die for their cause. It may be a good idea to try and talk about why they did it, our leaders owe it to the people who elected (chads anyone?) them to find a SOLUTION to this problem.

>I'm sorry if this is offensive but there are people in New York who have lost family members and would be offended that you treat it so lightly.

What gave you the idea that I treat this so lightly? On the contrary, I treat it so seriously that I am advocating a different response from the usual measures to help prevent future disasters. I feel and pray for all the people in New York and Washington DC today, I am taking my wife tomorrow to give blood with me. My brother in law works near the Rockfeller center, he is the one who called me to tell me the news, I thought he was joking. I am just trying to keep my sanity by letting my fingers do their thing here in SI, call it finger counseling or something.
