If we knew it was hi-jacked, if we knew it was going to take out the WTC then yeah it should have been shot down (or forced down somehow).

If we don't know that, then we don't shoot it down.

There is an air force base in NJ. No problem to intercept.

4 f*cking planes get jacked at once? Don't tell me somebody didn't know real quick.

The security lapse is in that practically anybody can get into the country, establish a fake ID, and blow up the place at will, it he has the resources and is willing to sacrifice himself.

Heck, if willing to sacrifice himself, he could even use his own name.

There are an infinite number of "unthinkable" acts, that will not be conjured up by a sane mind.

Best to stamp out the vermin who would advocate, sanction, plan, support and perpetrate such acts. With cold and ruthless determination.

John.

It takes half an hour to fly from Boston to NYC

...today's trip probably happened in record time at
full throttle...

Looking at the footage of both tower hits, these sick
bastards even banked the planes almost vertical right
before impact for maximum floor span damage. Also, it
appears they both approached/hit the towers(outside in)
so that in the event the plane blew thru the target tower,
debris would probably go toward the other towers on exit...calculated down to the last disturbing details...

I pray that there isn't a backlash in this country against so-called "foreigners." My mother, who is a liberal, called me tonight to tell me that while she was buying a battery-operated radio, two "suspicious-looking" men, whom she described as short, swarthy, and speaking in an accent, bought four police-band scanner type radios, and took them out into the parking lot, where they were met by two other men of the same description.

My own thought is that these are people who are either US citizens or legal residents, who are scared to death that they will be lynched.

CNN reporting that perhaps as many as 800 were killed in the attack on the Pentagon. Many, if not most, of the people killed lived in my own community, Northern Virginia. We pride ourselves on being a community of people from many nations, who live together in peace. I expect to find out later today that some of the people who were killed were parents of children my kids go to school with, maybe even my own neighbors.

My own anger is part of what makes me afraid, because I would not harm someone who did not try to harm me or mine first, but others do not have that brake on hostile impulses.
