America is all about the principle of freedom and a common thread of self interest . . . not about excluding other ‘foreigners’. If you start that line of thinking then maybe you won’t end there: do you want to send back the British, the Germans, the Irish and the Poles? Or send back the French and the Spanish too. And of course, you want to eradicate all the Latinos from central and South America as well. Will you send back the Russians, the Ukrainians, the Latvians, the Africans, the Chinese, the Japanese, the Taiwanese, and the Koreans? Or send ‘America’ back to the ice age. Send them all back except, perhaps, the Indians who migrated here on foot. In fact, let's make that the criteria for acceptance in America - you must have walked here from your native land of antiquity by foot - no boats or planes or any other man-made contrivance should be allowed? Let's understand what it really means to be an American. America is a system and a way of governance and doing business as much or more than it is a physical place. It is a way of respecting and upholding other’s rights as much as your own. We all have the rights to lawful expression of opinion and equal rights to livelihood and basic liberties. The America that I love and defend needs all of us non-American Indian foreigners. We should insist upon the ability for participation and support by all people who have earned citizenship.
