10:26pm 09/11/01 EXPLOSIVES FOUND UNDER G.W. BRIDGE--CBS NEWS





NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- Police have narrowly averted another catastrophe, arresting two men for carrying a van full of explosives destined for the George Washington Bridge in upper Manhattan/Bronx, WCBS-Channel 2 News reported.

The report said that the men had enough explosives to blow up the bridge and its occupants if they were detonated.

The suspects were arrested in the Meadowlands in New Jersey

The man risked his life today. Not that many politicians willing to put their life on the line to help his fellow citizens. Politics was not involved today. NYC Mayor has courage with a doubt.
