Hello long-gone: Thanks for the information. Was witness to long lines at the local fuel stop at around 2 PM ET. Local paper put out a special edition in mid-afternoon. Went to get a few gallons in the wife's van tonight. Unleaded completely out and the high-test was nearly the same. Never had this happen here (VBG), even back in the Gulf War days. Headline in the special edition: "US under attack". Local cellular service down or delayed for extended period. A very solemn day indeed. Panic in the gasoline lines. No prior experience for some of the things we see across the nation, especially the revenge thing. It is not wrong to have strong feelings for want of revenge, more prevalent today than perhaps after the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Most citizens of the U.S. really have no understanding of the actual extent of the damages created in New York. Never-seen parts of the infrastructure of what is the United States were exposed in all their delicate nature today. Just my hope we do not see that kind of disaster again.
