Jozef,

I think you are forgetting several things about the gulf war. The US and its allies were fighting Saddam's flunkies, not the elite republican guard. If the US struck into IRAQ, the US would've lost the support of the Arab coalition and US casualties would have increased exponentially.

While most of the US recalls our "success" in the Gulf War, what about a conflict that ensued afterwards....

Do you recall Somalia?
