Surely you are not defending Bush on the basis of his drugged out absentee National Guard service records now are you? As to rallying around something it is quite apparent to me that the country is what needs the rallying around, the injured and aggrieved, not the President. What happened, happened to the country, it happened to the people that there by the grace of God go us all. It did not happen to the President. He was after all hunkered in his Nebraska bunker away from the madding crowd. My point is that it was not a pretty picture seeing him run off. That's still my point and I'm sticking with it.
