So, this is not the time for introspection and self-criticism.

I would argue the exact opposite is true. The people who did this did not live and operate in a vacuum; there were reasons for doing what they did, and we must be able to recognize the faults of our own government and ourselves before looking for any type of vengeance.

The other guy is Evil.
He has hurt us.
This is a time to hunt him down,
and hurt him back, hurt him so badly, and repeatedly and preemptively,
so he has neither the will nor the ability to hurt us any more.

This has not worked for the past 10,000 years; what makes you believe it will work now? Hatred in mens hearts cannot be vanquished by more hatred. It is illogical to think that it can.

That's the American Way.

God help us all if it is.

"That's the American Way. It's ugly, but it works." Its not just the "American Way", its the way of most living things to defend themselves when attacked. I will make no apologies nor will I personally feel guilty about any American response to yesterday's mass murders. We did not throw down the gauntlet.......the conspirators did. I am personally proud to be an American, I always have been, and I always will be.

We have shown more mercy, kindness, charity, and empathy in times of world or national tragedies than any other nation on earth. We try to deal with issues with a sense of justice. We have not always done everything right, because we have been guided by different men with different agendas, but the American PEOPLE, have for the most part, had their hears and their minds in the right places, and certainly NEVER DESERVED THIS. God bless us all.

> You are a moral relativist. You try to see the other guys point of view. If there is a problem, your first instinct is to wonder what you did to provoke or cause the problem, and how you can adjust yourself to make everyone comfortable with you.

Absolutely not! There is nothing relative about my morals. I have a very strong sense of what I deem as right and what I deem as wrong. Those who perished did not deserve this. The American people have their hearts in the right place...the American government is another story. You need to familiarize yourself with our foreign policies before you pass such judgement.

My stance is logical. Unless we know how we got here, we will not be able to get out of it. A few missiles in Kabul do not solve the problem. They may well be part of the answer. But unless you address what it is that causes a young man give up his life and family to kill people he has never seen, you will not have a lasting solution. And please do not be naive and buy into the propaganda that those people are just evil, stupid, or have cultural biases that just puts us on the opposites. People all over the world essentially want the same thing. And they would not have cared less how we live our lives if we did not meddle in their affairs. Like most things, doing it the right way is not easy and requires considerable change. I am not very optimistic about a change in policy. But I refuse to be blind to roots of the issue.

In some ways the American people are like a mafia-princess. She is good hearted and lovable and loves her daddy. She just can't see why there are mean people outside who may want to harm her who has never done anything wrong.
