long-gone,
People seem to have a herd of sheep mentality...they don't know why the lead sheep is doing what it is doing but that they are going to follow. The gas lines are the same way.
Let us all just panic.

Doesn't the FED store gold in the basement of the WTC? Also, since 40M ounces of silver is stored at Republic Bank in NY , does anyone know how close it is to the WTC? And finally , with the NYMEX right across the street from the WTC, do we really think the Nymex will open soon? Isn't it more likely that just the Chicago Futures market will open..

Hi long-gone: London gold sale at 280.00 per oz. Did not think would see that this week. POG may have some legs. Have to commend the authorities dealing with the catastrophe, as most all agencies with responsibility for stabilization have performed rather well to date. Agree on the gasoline profiteering, but also realize: If a station owner has to limit fuel till they get a next allotment of bulk fuel, all you can legally do is limit the individual gallons per transaction or raise the price. Station owners may get some big arguments with customers if limiting number gallons one can sell to them; but if you just raise the price, you can just blame the "other guy" or your supplier and all that may = less arguments.

Do not really know how you meet greater demand with the same supply except with price or allotment. May see the same for the POG. The terrorist actions have resulted in a terrible loss of life. Let us all hope for quick help to relieve any suffering and quality professional assistance to those who survive the loss of family and friends.

Best Wishes;
Rails
