Would you like to comment on Eddington's assertion that a star collapsed below a certain limit needs energy to cool, as it has to do work to expand against gravity in order to cool. Needing energy to lose energy put the star in a difficult position. Star fridgidaires are scarce.

Of course we have all been there before.
