OMD,

Thanks for your prompt reply. I was hoping you would be one of the people to have some comment on my questions. I kept hearing the term "fresh" blood being used and wondered if there was a reason for that term to be used. I did know that blood could be stored, but did not know for how long. I appreciate the input. I will be in line soon.

I heard that a plane out of Denver received special permission to fly blood supplies to NYC.

With having lived in Eastern United States, it is very odd to me to feel the impact of such a horrendous situation so close to home. I do not believe the realities of natural disasters spread across the country like we are feeling the effect of this in Northwestern Pennsylvania. I was thinking specifically like the San Francisco earthquakes or even the bombing of the Federal building in Oklahoma. I do also realize due to the nature of his horrible incident, the effects are felt across the country. My point was more that this side country seems to have had less disasters of such intensity.

(disclaimer, I could be wrong about that as well, and only have selective memory. Maybe more sleep or more coffee would help)

I kept one child home from school today.
