The enemy of my enemy is my friend. If it works for the Muslims... it works for the US. And yes, it's pretty clear that having Egyptians and Palestinians dancing in the streets over this terrorist attack will prove to be convincing propaganda that unites both the US and Israel in their efforts to destroy these terrorist cells. And I wonder what will happen when the American people realize that we've been paying $2 Billion a year to Egypt to prop up their economy. Chomsky is right in some ways though... we know that propaganda is all important in creating a united front of public opinion that sustains the national policy... (right or wrong).. We can all sit here and wonder if whether we had done something "differently", whether we could have avoided creating the events that led these bastards to do what they did. And you know... such 20/20 hindsight STILL DOES NOT EXCUSE OR JUSTIFY THE ACTS OF THESE TERRORISTS. Some 10-20,000 lives were likely snuffed out yesterday in NYC.. Innocent civilians, not military personnel, who could be conceivably viewed as "legitimate" targets (although there is STILL no declared war)... And which folks like yourself and Thomas trying to create the impression that "it serves us right", I wonder who's going to spend time criticizing the actions of these terrorists and whether they could have taken a "different path" than committing such an act.
