Neil,

I'm not American or Israeli or Arab, and I find your comment offensive. Maybe that's because I can look at the situation with an unbiased eye.

I find the situation very similar to the cold war. The cold war lasted as long as the Communists had it as their goal to take over and defeat the West. Once they gave up that goal, the cold war ended, and the arms control negotiations that were ones a life and death situation turned out to be just a technicality, resolved quickly by low level bureaucrats.

The same is true in the middle east. Once Palestinians, or Arabs in general give up their goal to destroy Israel, a lasting peace, division of land can be negotiated very quickly.

Oh please, it's people like you that continue the hatred.

What I find disturbing is people who moral equivalence between the good and evil, and are under the impression that it makes them look unbiased and sophisticated.

In many situations, things are not black and white, but various shades of gray. But in mid east, I find the situation to be very much black and white.
