The same was said of the Wright Brothers.


As I recall, the Army was only interested in their airplane after they proved it could fly.

Ihave aclient who is a retired army General. I have discussed this at length with him. While he does believe that under current technology "Star Wars" will not work for the reason you gave, he feels that it would be possible to have a system based on ships and sattelities that could detect the missle at lift off and hit in while near the ground before it gets into space. This could be very useful if we decide we have to attack, Iraq, for example. While their missles probably could not reach America, they could reach a friendly country or American bases. As with most of these issues it is far more complicated than the press leads us to believe.
