I immediately thought of the orphaned children ushered out of the WTC basement daycare center who lost primarily their single moms yesterday in an act of unspeakable violence dumped on their young lives, without their consent. I sighed a big sigh of relief when I learned yesterday afternoon they were safely elsewhere. That cognitive connection with their orphaned status came from a unique tragic plane crash experience back in Wichita Kansas several years ago which orphaned several children when an entire university football team and coaches and their families were wiped out in one moment of tragedy. And those who died in the hijacked planes yesterday also left little ones. I did notice a family of 3, mom dad and 2 year old on the manifest list scrolled by CNN early this AM. It is so very very sad what those youngsters are facing. Not only did mommy not come pick them up last night, chances are Daddy didn't either as traffic and communicaitons are hopelessly snarled in and around that scene to wherever they were evacuated to. God's richest blessings upon those over stressed caregivers today as they take care of the little ones and try to answer the unanswerable, and find missing shoes, and blankies, and bears and dollies, and places to sleep and all, by adults who themselves want to go home to families and loved ones as well. SO if folks want to light candles, light them for the day care adults of those orphaned kids of single moms who worked in the WTC. My last comment at least for several hours<g>... You wrote the following: the next stage that they might progress towards is to become a warrior who would fight to ensure that no one else is a subject to the enormous grief that they have suffered at the hands of their fellow human beings. And finally, hopefully they might eventually progress emotionally and spiritually to become a peacemaker who recognizes that there are many victims out there who have never had their losses and grievances addressed and who are trying desperately to deal with their own distress and inner turmoil. Thank you for venerating the "warrior phase" of those like myself, and Jim Currie and millions of others of deep resolve this day. I will return to the peacemaker, bank on it. But my white dove costume with olive branch septre is neatly folded and back on the shelf simply because the helmut, carbine, camoflauge, and charcoal is more necessary now than tickling the enemies backsides with goosing olive branches. Selah.
