Yes, of course. Making allowances for the lag, if I feel that I am "in the middle of something", I excuse myself for anything time consuming. Only if I feel I have been on the sidelines do I not. I thought that was a matter of being polite, frankly. I am surprised that people have found it strange.

I get a better picture of your woolgathering, anyway. I understand feeling as if there is a bit too much input.

I think that there is a loose end on what to do with prisoners of war, assuming one accepts surrender. I would not mind them being remanded to the civil authorities. What I object to going the police route from the start.

I am not so sure that it will be so hard to get a coalition. I am not sure of the breadth of it, that's all. But even so, I am not against unilateralism when it is practical.......
