Thank you for posting the information about Meehan. He was probably the only connection I had to the New York tragedy, and reading it felt like a punch in the gut. I can only imagine what some of the rest of you are going through.

I am proud to say that when "everyone" jumped on Meehan, I did not - I defended him. So did MythMan, and I think there were others - maybe you? Meehan had an excellent track record at predicting the market. He wasn't a mindless bullish cheerleader, nor a permabear - he was reliable. Not perfect, but very, very good. He was a very generous, kind, funny presence here on SI. He will be sorely missed.

I will never think of the Kentucky Derby without thinking of him. Bill, tonight I will hoist a mint julep in your honor. Sorry, can't bring myself to make it Budweiser. Those of you who drink Budweiser, please hoist one for Bill. Goodbye and God Bless.

Well, with things changing so much on an almost daily basis, it's comfort to be able to come someplace where things never change. <g>
