That statement could apply to all free countries, such as the US, that protect the rights of those of whom we disapprove. I think it's more than those of whom we disapprove. It's those who advocate and carry out the indiscriminate killing of innocent people for religious or political reasons. And it's countries which harbor them knowing what they are. Of course, we are not totally innocent of this ourselves -- much of the IRA money to bomb England comes from the US, and we welcomed Gerry Adams here a few years ago. I wonder whether the attitude of the Irish-American community will change at all after this.
