Robert Graham blaming the pilots? his words -- What was the pilot thinking? Was fear motivating the pilot to think of saving his own butt? Apparently this strategy did not work. His permissive inaction lead to the death of everyone aboard including that pilot and thousands of people in the building the plane hit. Not a good legacy to leave his children. A legacy that I am sure will live on hundreds of years in the history books and the future memories of his family. I think we need to band together and think selflessly in order to fight terrorist threats. --- Pretty brave talk sir sitting at your computer, might be a good time to rethink what you just typed. The pilots are dead. You have a chance to take it back and make it right. What do you really think? and could it be possible that the pilots, flight attendants and brave passengers did all they could?

>>Where was American Intelligence (CIA and FBI) in proactively discovering this well-coordinated plan of attack?<< - c'mon Robert,,you're swingin at the wrong people,,

As for the pilots and crew,,several were killed with the box cutters. Razor blades on the veins are very effective.

1. The CIA's human based intelligence efforts, particularly in the middle east, can be better funded. A study last year indicated this. The US can consort with the bad guys more -- but the laws need to be changed. Consorting with bad guys in Central America and South America is politically incorrect, but perhaps should be tolerated when trying to infiltrate terrorist networks in the middle east. If all the world were a safe place run by good governments, we could probably afford this measure of political correctness.

2. US pilots did not fly those planes into the World Trade Center. US pilots were not at the controls. Talk to some pilots for yourself and find out what they are like: family people, ex-military people, people trained to know what the public good is. The planes' transponders were turned off early in the flights indicating that the terrorists had taken control. Some of the terrorists had flight training, perhaps at the same school, www.embryriddle.com, as many American pilots.

This is probably the last successful hijacking of a US plane where the terrorists had only knives. It has been 10 years since a hijacking in the US. Most hijackings in the world end with the plane flying to some other country, they plane sitting on the tarmac, the Iranians feeding the hijackers, and eventually the hijackers and passengers walking off the plane unharmed. Think about it. Most recent hijackings have ended with few if any casualties. Based on experience, victims submitting to terrorists during a hijacking will get one out alive. Not any more.

1. We all wish this had been detected and averted. It wasn't. They obviously were good at keeping secrets. It's impossible to have eyes and ears everywhere in a free society.

2. I wouldn't second guess the pilots and crews. They had a situation to deal with and did so to the best of their ability. I doubt they expected the planes to be flown into the WTC. They may have been told they'd be landing at LaGuardia and if they cooperated with that false goal nobody would be hurt, or they may have been overpowered and/or killed early on. Perhaps we'll eventually find out if the recorders are found.

3. I don't remember ever being close to putting Saddam in custody.

." Where was American Intelligence (CIA and FBI) in proactively
discovering this well-coordinated plan of attack? This involved
more than a handful of people and quite possibly more than one
organization.

How could such a secret of such magnitude be kept?"
*******************************************************************************

Suddenly, overnight, all Americans have become Hawks. A few months ago if the CIA & FBI requested the
funds they need to have effective surveillance on the types of sub-humans that perpetrated
yesterday's evil deed, every Liberal in the country would have crawled all over them & insist
that they had enough funding to do their job. Years ago both the CIA & FBI were rendered almost useless
in being effective against sophisticated terrorists by far too many liberal thinking citizens in the USA.
Today all those same people are ready to criticize the organizations they almost dismantled
a few decades ago.

How can two terrorists with just knives in their hands be able to force the pilot and his crew to give up control of the plane? A plane loaded with people. >>>>>>>

It has been reported that there were likely 3-6 terrorists per plane, and that it is ironic that all 4 of the planes contained an unusually small number of passengers. If you look at past rosters, these routes were/are normally full. Speculation is that the terrorist organizations bought up rows of tickets in order to assure minimum or no resistance. (There is a lot of money behind international terrorism)

This statement made by you is uncalled for, un-American and disgusting. You owe an apology.
