Jerome-- I'm missing your point on what we should do. I agree with much of your preface, but we come to different conclusions. Certainly Pearl Harbor was also provoked by US economic limiting oil to Japan, but are you saying that we should not have fought back?

There were and are conflicts between the US, Israel and some Arabs, but does that mean that we should appease Bin Laden? Clearly there are two sides to all stories, but this was a barbaric, stupid, and viscious attack of unimaginable magnitude and destruction. What are you proposing that we should do?

BTW, this thread is having a very civil and intelligent discussion of a passionate issue and we should feel proud. I was ashamed of some of the crap that I saw on other threads.
