Yesterday, I happened to talk to my letter carrier about what was going on. I had a letter from Morgan Stanley, the firm that was the biggest single tenant of the WTC with 3500 employees and I think 40 floors. I told her that the buildings had collapsed and who knows how many may have died. She said that explained why everyone there at the local office, when she delivered their mail, was so somber and zombie like. She had no idea that there was a local connection up to the time I told her.

That got me to thinking that there must be thousands of unpublicized "local connections" to this disaster across the country. I finally realized how the enormity of what happened went far beyond the buildings and lives destroyed in these despicable acts of insanity.
