Bill, you continue digging yourself into a pit. I do not consider nominal believers to be true believers. And besides, that has little to do with your original prejudice that you continue repeating, that somehow "Well-educated people do not believe." I know many who believe and are well-educated. Prove to me that they aren't. Tenchusatsu

Those that are asked and bleat the PC line, oh yes, we are devout, but too busy to go to church...they are not believers. Believers go to church, by definition." I know extremely well educated people who also have strong religious beliefs. I also do not consider church attendance essential to being a believer. When I go to church I am not a believer and often feel that I may be more involved in the service than many of the others who appear as warm bodies. And I find the services to be beneficial as a time of reflection and to share basic human concerns and hope. I think you have expressed your opinion with respect to organized religion more than enough as it is offensive to many. I have a more general sentiment: that when taken to extremes, belief systems result in poor recognition of and respect for others who may have different beliefs. Maybe I am just a hopeless optimist but it sure feels better than reflecting solely on the negatives. My last post on religion. -PT
