I'm not sure what Truman would have done. I do know he deliberated for a long time before dropping the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Perhaps the second one wasn't needed, but it did underscore US resolve.

I think their is a much less support for the leadership in Afghanistan now than there was in 1945 Japan. I don't think everyone in Kabul is rooting for the Taleban.

Truman is not proud of what he did---it was estimated that if he did not do what he did,2million more allied soldiers would die to get a surrender.
The war already ,for us,was 4 years old,and the enemy would never surrender.
But you wimps,don't want any war,you just want to have a Nuclear Blast you can watch on your T.V. sets and then think how fuuuking brave you are--dirty cowards!!!!!Max
