<<People here are very angry, and angry people say angry things. It's cathartic>>

Very true...good observation.

Meehan's situation in particular p*sses me off. He was probably sitting at his desk, firing up the computer, maybe writing his column for The Street, maybe sipping a cup of coffee, maybe reading the CFZ and laughing at this erudite post by Luc:

Then BOOOoom! And it's all over!

12,000 people. It's almost incomprehensible. They all had passions and people they loved and who loved them. So yes, I'm angry and irrational. As SI Bob rather articulately put it, we (the US) are grieving, so our Allies won't get bent if we in our grief "overreact" a bit.

CB:

Good post.

I sure as heck share the average American's rage over this.

Personally, I think the U.S. has displayed staggering restraint so far, both in words and deeds. I also think the free world has to remove the velvet glove and exposed the rusty iron hook. Terrorism is the ultimate cowardly act and must be dealt with accordingly. Two eyes for an eye.

Best, Earlie
