Dave,

<I've lived in the South, the midwest and now the west. NO WAY do even 20% of the people I've encountered attend church EVERY week.

I don't have a single friend from college who attends church. In fact, before I moved to AZ, I didn't know know a single person (and I knew a lot of people) who attended church EVERY Sunday.>

Maybe you hang out with the wrong people. :-) (totally kidding of course)

As for "the people I've encountered", how would I know which of them attend church regularly without getting to know them fairly well?

As for college students, it is my perception that many colleges are very secular places, although there are obviously exceptions, and exceptions within exceptions.

As for you not knowing a single person that attended church regularly, then you simply do not have a good sample for meaningful discussion. My situation is almost entirely the opposite (with a few exceptions).

But, after all that, your point is well taken, there might be as little as 5% regular attenders, or as high as 80% regular attenders, depending on your sample set and how good a study you do...

Thread:
As for all of the OT, it looks like the market might be opening again tomorrow. Should we call an OT truce starting at midnight (ET) tonight, or some other agreed upon time?

I think we have a unique community of posters here, and I have enjoyed reading the different perspectives. However, it seems that some of the discussion is spiraling downward, and we really ought to get back on topic at some point anyway.

JJ

Dave, that was my experience in CA as well. I don't think people in CA attend church service as much as people in other places.

Attending church service is much more prevalent here in Seattle. What's nice is you don't have to get dressed up like I did when I was a kid.
