The Commandments constrained them a bit (by saying that you could not kill or steal from neighbors), but there was nothing in there about hitting back at aggressors. that is true, let me ask you a question about the meaning of "turn another cheek". Does that mean that if US would find a terrorist base that is responsible for yesterday murders US should offer them fully fueled jets for more terrorist acts? If not then 10 commandments is what formed our morality rather than "turn another cheek". re: I have no beef with Christians or Hebrews or Muslims Nether do I. From morality stand point all three of them teach the same thing which is basically to be nice. re: Don't blame the actions of the followers on the source material that is the point, as with many teachings there would be interpretations. Personally, I'm an Agnostic. I have no clue why people think I'm strange when I say that, especially since there is no ironclad evidence out there to either prove or disprove the existence of deities or magic or supernatural phenomena. That's funny...I have a friend who is very religious and has tried to convince me for nearly 5 years, that there is a God, a JC [not you but the son of G] and an after life. Well, after watching Crossing Over on the Scifi channel for most of the summer, I am almost a believer. So I called her with the good news. Instead of being happy, she nearly freaked that a medium had convinced me. I thought she was going to make the sign of the devil...666...over the phone. Sometimes you can't win for trying. ted
