What a great thing to post today. I forgot how charming he was. You know I was in the middle East in the late 80's. It was a scary place. I'll never forget all the buried tanks in the desert as we drove through Egypt, or all the gun emplacements with barbed wire on top, and guys with machine guns pacing around them. Israel was also scary. The whole place is scary to me- which makes me realize how luck I am to have grown up where I did. I can't remember ever seeing anyone with a machine gun in my city. I never saw anyone killed by anything, not shot, or blown up- until I was 14- and only then in a hospital, afterwards- I wasn't actually present for the shooting. I've never been in a hail of bullets. (for which I am grateful).
