The families of the people on that flight can take some solace in knowing that their loved ones did the right thing and prevented an even greater disaster.

It appears that some of the country's gas distributors and station owners are decidedly not heroes -

"Associated Press

NEW YORK -- In the hours after the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, gas stations across the U.S. substantially raised their prices, and some motorists scuffled in long lines at the pumps. . .

Greg Seiter, a spokesman for the AAA Hoosier Motor Club in Indiana, said his office received reports of prices rising to $3 to $4 a gallon in parts of Indiana, including Bloomington and Indianapolis. In California, gasoline wholesalers raised prices by as much as 20 cents a gallon. . .

The R and L Texaco in Oklahoma City raised the price of unleaded gasoline to $5 a gallon after a supplier told the owner that it was unclear when the next shipment would be available and at what price."

Sheesh.

I heard about that a bit ago. They are true heroes. I'd like to think the terrorists had radios on them and their last words were

"Holy shit, the Americans are coming!"

A great story I'm sure it will etch the thought in every American every time they take to the air.

I hope the heroes on flight 93 interrupted any efforts by the terrorists to disengage the "black box". If so, it will help the FBI immensely. Remind me to discuss the recorder device with you. Maybe in LV.
