Just as meaningful to going long into the panic as to going short. Do you think MSCO is really going to be devastated by this? It may be a body blow, but I may very well pick some up if it opens at 50% off. Or should I 'refrain from profiteering' and let the folks who panic sell for 75% off?

Taking a stock position has absolutely nothing to do with the tragedy. Trading out of whack valuations is the raison d'être of the stock trader. If it is wrong in one case, then it is wrong in every case.
