Andreas, re:...speaking of Kissinger: I didn't know that he speaks German so well...

That was pretty funny. For those of us native English speakers, its rather obvious he's German, but for others, probably not so.

Cheers,
~dbf

As your other responder implied, Kissinger, though perfectly fluent in English, has a heavy German accent. There's supposed to be an age, in the early teens I think, when some mental development threshold is crossed and it becomes impossible to learn to speak a foreign language without an accent.

Win, speaking of Kissinger: I didn't know that he speaks German so well. He was on German television today and ironically his first words were (he probably thought he still was offline) "Is this a local or a national program?".
Edit: Just looked at his biography, he was born in Germany.

Andreas, its that accent...how could you have missed it. LOL.

BTW my Pat and Thorsten are in Germany right now but they are coming back to the states soon. Of course, when they first called yesterday they were all about the terrorists and the WTC ...for about 5 minutes and then, it was....what's the weather like in Seattle? in Vancouver? Will there be sun in the next two weeks? Where is the best sun right now? Will it be warm and sunny in Seattle? Should they go to CA instead......

What is it with you Germans and the sun?!! LOL
