I apologize -- I called here in the states, not Canada.

However, I think it is discrinatory to restrict new customers from doing what existing customers can do.

What happened to free markets? If they pull that kind of crap here in the states it'll shake confidence -- and there'd be a mass exodus, imo. The risks to the market isn't from short sellers anyway -- it is from people who want to cash out. Changing the rules or having a different set of rules for different participants is not the answer to the shock of a tragedy --

There were similar moves during the 1997 Asian crisis in Japan and elsewhere in East Asia.
