Artificially pumping stock to swindle people a third time off their monies is unamerican and a crime.

Either way, the market will act on its own principles and not on futile attempts to corner it. Period.

I would think any exploitation of the tragedy for any personal gain would be appalling. Or even misusing the tragedy to transparently wave a "patriotic" flag about one's own notions regarding short-sellers and morality. Doesn't sound particularly...eh..."unifying".
