I dunno. Perhaps they would give him up. I can't see it, because they would likely not take kindly to being ordered around. They are fanatics.

In any case, like you say, there seem to be a line up of folks who would take his place.

On another subject, it's the nature of the attacks that seem to upset folk as much as the death toll. I can't imagine the response would be similar if they sunk a cruise ship with 4,000 (for example) Americans on board.
