That is also the point why GWB will have to rethink his military defense strategy (if military defense was ever a viable option, rather than threat & counter threat). Not the $Billion super star wars initiative is necessary to shield the U.S. but simply a bit money and courage into hard old-school ground work and efficient intelligence, perhaps with improved security standards on airports and ships. To illustrate it: Get one right-wing government elected (Italy, former Austria), and you earn continued clashes between police and liberal movements. And I'm witnessing all this from a relatively safe heaven in central Europe where severe violent attacks are not taking place..., perhaps the result of democratic, openminded regimes who don't allow extreme standpoints on either side. Have you noticed that Israel armies piggybacked on the news vacuum and launched an attack on Jericho which till now was a comparably safe and quiet place. That's a shame... a completely unnecessary event which only complicates things on the west bank. You seem to travel a lot, recently...
