No, I am from Minsk. But I spent a lot of time in St. Petersburg and it is one of the most gorgeous cities in the world.
It is hard to believe that the palaces and museums and the spirit of the city survived the 900-day blockade during WWII when almost 1 million people died of starvation and constant bombings.
The history of that city makes you believe that you can overcome any terror or threat from outside.
