JQP- Killing in God's name sure does sound like an oxymoron to me- how about you? I work for e.g., heavily in windpower development.

You would be truly surprised how far wind power has come in only five years in reducing costs and improving efficiency. Expanded development of Class5 and Class6 wind power areas on the High Plains, my guess could back out 2-3mm/bbls/day of foreign oil usage easily in the next decade, and also cut out a lot of fossil fuel generated air pollution....

John, I can assure you that God is not happy with what He sees. Pride has much to do with it all in the thinking that one has been "called" to help destroy the Great Satan.
"All of this death and suffering over fu#%ing religion. If there is a God/Allah I hope he is happy that his people are killing each other in his name."

At the same time, if there ever was a wakeup call for America, the time is now. America itself has had a pride problem in the thinking that nothing could ever REALLY happen to us. I still see this attitude on these boards as well as many politicians. We need to wake up! Fundamental Islam was called our greatest threat years ago by Richard Wurmbrand (a christian Jew who spent 13 years in prison for his beliefs by the communists).

We truly are at war and I just hope and pray our leaders in Washington get beyond words to action. The mindset of our enemy is very simply: Conform or be killed.
Getting a few of these guys is not the answer. We must seek and destroy the root. This has to be our goal.

I always kind of sided with the Palestinians in their battles with Israel. I felt (felt correctly I might add) that Israel used excessive force at times. I still believe that. Now however, I realize what their goal has been. It is to destroy this faction of Islam. These Islamists are enemies to other muslims as well. We need to deliver ultimatums to all these countries that harbor these terrorists. We have no other choice.

I live in Jersey City. Less than a mile away is the so-called place of worship where the blind cleric (remember the mastermind of the original WTC bombing?) held service.
Why is this place still standing? I am not against muslims, but we as a nation have accepted too much in the way of allowance when it comes to beliefs etc. We need to stop this practice of Islam, but will we?

Just last week I mentioned to a friend that living here was probably one of the safest places against terrorism because I felt and still feel much of the planning is done here. America needs to get off its high horse and recognize our foes have a "destroy or be destroyed" mentality and unless we change our ways, not only will we continue to be open targets, but will eventually be whittled down to nothing.
