Although strict security measures should continue, the flight crew needs protection

Many of our commercial aircraft pilots and airlines were very lax regarding security.
Two weeks ago I was flying home from Detroit to Harrisburg,Pa. and I was amazed that the cockpit door was open for 15-20 minutes.

This was on Northwest Airlines although I'm not saying they were any worse than other airlines when it comes to forgetting about security.

Flying home from Great Britain last year to New York I was also amazed at the people who were conducting security in New York. The only thing these security people were capable of were collecting a paycheck. It was pretty sad.
Now I realize it's almost impossible to hire minimum wage people and intrust them to catch or thwart international terrorists intent on sabotage.
The price of security must go up and if it doesn't there will be more tragic incidents.
