Jozef,

re:"But for the sake of argument, suppose it was possible to turn someone who are today prepared to give their own life to kill a Jew or American into a UPS truck driver whose most important decision on his mind is which model of Weber grill to buy.

How would you go about persuading Americans that they should send to Palestinians celebrating deaths of thousands of Americans are not Cruise missiles, but the tax dollars of Americans, especially considering the fact that it was already tried before and failed?"

First there has been NO history of palestinians HATING US for centuries.

The reason for the current HATE is obvious.

They essentially lost their country when Israel was created.

Israel probably would not have survived today without US support - financial/military etc.

And they have no future or prospects and so they stew and hate increases.

As far as money.

Lots of the money that has been given to palestinians has been in the form of cash. This leads to abuse and perhaps only 5or10% being used.

We should help with factories.

We should help with training.

We should help with power plants.

We should help with schools and teachers etc.

We should help with building them homes.

And we should get other countries to help to pay for it as well.

Peace in the middle east would be somthing of great value to the whole civilzed world and most industrialized countries would help.

regards,

Kash

Re <<The leaders of these countries are a lot more moderate than a common man in the street>>

For goodness sake Joe! What do YOU know about the "common man in the street". Oh you watched TV and there was a man on the street burning a flag? Can you be any more arrogant? Any more un-American?

I am not going to say what is really on my mind because I would have to ban myself. For now, I just move you to my ignore list since I really can not handle anymore of your posts without smashing my computer and I know your style of posting does not need moderating.

History teaches us that a positive constructive approach CAN work.
Examples would be germany and japan. Both a set of people that did unspeakable acts compared to recent bombings.

The difference, IMO is that the citizens of those countries didn't have any significant enmity of United States. The leaders at the time used propaganda to create it, but it was not spontaneous.

Untrue...who caused all the pain that the Germans suffered under the Weimar Republic? It was the demand of the allies including the US for retribution.
