You are trying to justify one side of the equation and discredit the other. If the market succeeds in rallying from the open, are you to sell your positions because the profits made came from a rally caused by patriotic rallying from the blood of those that died? It works both ways AS. What is the difference? Why should it be the responsibility of shorts to take the financial crutch? I have said it before....the longs selling will far overwhelm shorts shorting, especially when you cannot short on a downtick anyway. If you want to make an impact, get the longs to stop selling.

Do you remember my post to you here on sept 1rst ?
Message 16289803

what, how , why and where in the world did you think
that going into warnings season , things were
going to get better ?

You did see the recent reiterated warnings in the Semis
and for MANU , etc ?

American industry has been in a steady decline for
going on 10yrs , with a dot.com , IT , and huge (unbelievable) Telecom
overspending bubble in between ...

When will you ever learn ? You pick a great time to become responsible , AS .

regards

Marsh
