Huey--

I had an opposite experience in a private school and a quite conservative middlewestern community...coming early to believe that capitalism works, and that it's the only system that does. That, combined with a set of freedoms that allowed me and everyone else to participate in it or not, are the ingredients that the rest of the world envys.

Your observations of your own experience, and my opposite, suggest we might each appreciate the education experience young people in places like the Middle East might have. It might also be helpful to remember that there is opposition even in Afginastan to the present government.

On the current matter, I hope that we will rally the world to pressure whatever "host" country in which these villans are hiding to surrender them to our court system. If that doesn't happen, those governments ought to be considered accessories both before and after the fact...ie, fair game.

Reservations?: Wasn't it the Afgans who taught the Soviets what a Viet Nam defeat feels like. We'd better have a very good plan, and lots more focus on the end game.
