I'm not an expert, but I know a number of airline pilots who have told me that it would not be difficult to fly a commercial jet, once you have instrument level flight skills, know what to expect, and possibly had some time on a simulator.

It does seem easy to believe it was Saddam, especially considering his relationship with Bush Sr. Maybe it was. I just hope that we know that to be true before attacking Iraq out of collective anger. Otherwise, we may kill more innocents without administering justice.

I think they were enrolled not just to train them to fly, but to train them to fly in US airspace, and become familiar with the FAA rules here.
