I am very familiar with that adage but just to be argumentative, you may want to reconsider that saying in light of the how we avoided the necessity for invading mainland Japan. We obliterated Hiroshima and Nagasaki from the air. And just to be a little more incendiary, how do you feel about the fact that Osama Bin Laden's closest allies are the Pakistanis who themselves possess nuclear weapons. Time for a preemptive strike?

What is your service status? Are you going to be among the ground forces that go into Afghanistan or Iraq or Libya or wherever else this trail leads? Or is this your well thought out consideration made safely from your bunker?
