Nah, we'll just keep saying we can do both...isn't economically feasible, but he just got elected, and he can tell big lies for a while.. Don't know if you ever read anything on Star Wars, but it was sheer lunacy (Reagan's understanding, and how much was actually accomplished vs. what was announced) but apparently, it scared the crap out of the Russians, and depending on who you talk to, might have contributed to forcing earlier arms negotiations...Talking about your poker bluffs (Having said this, I've read accounts from Russian generals who said the Russians were ready to give up arms race as soon as Poland in 1980/1981.....so its hard to say)
