We don't set the terms of the conflict, the other side does. They have made it a war against those who refuse to accept Mohammed as the Prophet. America is the symbol of that refusal, hence the hatred and targeting of our resources. It isn't Christian versus Muslim, it is some Muslims against everyone else. You need to understand that.

But it already is a religous war to them. As well as political. Of course i'm talking about a fraction of Muslims though in some some countries they are very sizeable if not the majority.
I can tell you there are many in Egypt for example who are happy this happened and would like to see more of it.

You are correct that this is a conflict even bigger than the historical ones over religion. We are going to be asked to fight for the basic rights for all humanity against oppression.
